Student Advocacy

The Law Students’ Society is proud of the amicable and productive relationship it maintains with the faculty. Society Officers place a premium on representing students interests in a rational, friendly and yet vigorous manner. You should feel free to approach the Law School Board Representative on issues relating to the academic or administrative practices of the school (lsb@aulss.org.au).

Recently, Law Society Officers helped to resolve the problems associated with the Corporate Law Exam 2004, while student’s views were firmly put to the faculty on the proposed changes to the honours degrees.

For personal or private grievances please contact the Social Justice Officer (socialjustice@aulss.org.au). The Social Justice Officer also sits with the President or Vice President on the Academic Appeals Board. While matters brought to that forum are confidential, society officers seek to have them resolved in the fairest possible manner for the students concerned.
