Apple on Campus Student Discounts

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

The University has recently announced a new programme entitled “Apple on Campus“:

Apple on Campus is a new and exciting partnership between the University of Adelaide and Apple. Current staff and students are entitled to get up to 12% off the RRP of selected Mac computers, around the clock, through an exclusive online store!

This discount is only available to current University of Adelaide staff and students, for the duration of the agreement, along with additional promotions and discounts on Apple accessories and software.

Visit alumni.adelaide.edu.au/apple for more information, and to access the store.

While Apple’s online store has always offered discounts to University students (visit apple.com.au/edu), “on Campus” appears to offer greater savings.

For example, the base level MacBook retails for $1599 generally, and is reduced to $1499 on the general student store.  On the “on Campus” website though, it sells for around $1439.

The top of the line Mac Pro is discounted by over $800 (but would still cost you more than $5000 to buy)

Unfortunately, the store does not seem to offer discounts on iPods and iPhones.

Note that before purchasing any Mac online, it may be worth checking the prices offered by Unibooks.

Unibooks is South Australia’s only Apple Authorised Campus Reseller! That means that students and university staff, you are entitled to up to 10% off the recommended retail price for Apple computers software and accessories! (conditions apply)
